What Our Clients Say

One of the best ways to understand the impact that partnering with us can make, is to see what some of our clients say. We are so proud of the teams we work with and honored that they are willing to share their experiences.

We've been working with Weldon Larson for 10 years and know him as a leader, a phenomenal business facilitator, a professional and friend. Fortunately for Chico Electric, Mr. Larson met and knew our founder Cec Nielsen and learned Cec's values and business philosophy that still holds true today. From those meetings with Cec, Mr. Larson immediately recognized what we didn't, Chico Electric is a legacy company. A true gift over the past few years, by Mr. Larson working and helping us develop our succession plan ensuring the legacy. Weldon's style is to leave the nuts and bolts to us ... he teaches and nudges where necessary keeping us focused on high level topics, i.e. succession and other long term planning. Our company has reaped the many benefits of having Mr. Larson as our business consultant including development of our mission, values, purpose vision and legacy. The Chico business community is fortunate to have this caliber of talent locally in Mr. Larson.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Weldon since the Chico Executive Group was formed in early 2013 by a group of business professionals in Chico, CA.  Weldon facilitated this group and ultimately helped form the organization and has chaired it since.  He brings a wealth of business knowledge and experience, as well as significant life experience to share which helps to develop me, as an entrepreneur, business leader, community leader, and in the end a better person.

In his role as Chairman of CEG, he guides the processing of business issues that our group brings; offering his insights and challenging our assumptions and positions, and most importantly keeps us in line with our agreed upon guidelines!  As an advisor, our time spent during our one on one sessions really helped me look at strategic opportunities and think through how best to approach, and always keeps me thoughtful of organizational health along the way.  And as a friend, he has been and continues to be an advocate and encourager of my own personal health and development, helping me keep focused on maintaining margin for a healthy personal life alongside a demanding professional life.

My relationship with Weldon began when I accepted his offer of employment as his corporate controller, after leaving public accounting with an international CPA firm in the late 1980s. While his real estate development company was lean, under his leadership the professionalism was on par with the most elite corporate environments. I was also impressed by how his office culture included a decidedly personal touch. As the company controller I saw every detail of the financial successes and challenges of the business and how Weldon handled both with the utmost integrity. His uncompromising commitment to honesty and forthright dealings with vendors, partners and clients was inspiring to me as a young professional. I firsthand observed him honor all his obligations to others in his professional orbit, at a time when compromise was the norm in real estate development.

His role as a professional mentor quickly expanded to areas of my personal life, for which I am forever grateful. From then until now, Weldon has only ever been a professional and personal advocate for me. I know his advocacy extends to all those in his business and personal life.

After the real estate development days, our paths remained connected as we continued to work together as colleagues. Given his depth of experience and wise council I continue to view him as a mentor and strong ally. I knew from my work under his employment that he demanded excellence from his staff and himself. His tenacious pursuit of excellence was undeniable as he and I worked together as collaborators in various capacities over the years. Weldon’s desire to learn and increase his already impressive capacity challenged me in the same direction. Weldon is a student of himself and of others. Whether he is bringing his professional acumen to invest in you and/or your company, he always gives you 100%.

Even when Weldon and I both moved on to different career paths, he remained invested in me. At my request, and with the support of my business partners, Weldon engaged with me as a professional and life coach. With my permission, Weldon uncovered misalignments in my inherent strengths and fundamental aspects of my professional life. He helped me establish markers that alerted me to times of imbalance and gave me the steps necessary for correction and the focus to stay animated in my work.

I have been working with Weldon since I joined The Hignell Companies in 2003, however prior to this time Weldon has worked with our firm since 1994. His knowledge of real estate development and history with our founder resulted in the successful development and purchase of numerous properties. During our years of partnership and friendship I have seen Weldon play a key role in the development of multiple leaders in our local community. His commitment to helping leaders live their very best lives both personally and professionally has resulted in many companies being changed for the better in Northern California. As a leader he has challenged me to think more strategically and helped me uncover areas of growth that I may have not seen as clearly without his keen insight. I consider it a privilege to call Weldon my friend, because with Weldon, it is never “just business”.

Weldon Larson and Paradigm Management Group provide exceptional leadership development and organizational health advising to Northern California businesses.  Weldon’s extensive professional experience as an executive in real estate development as well as his long tenure as an executive at IBM enable him to be of genuine service to leaders and client organizations.  As the Chair of the Chico Executive Group (CEG), Weldon facilitates leaders’ discussions about their most critical and challenging leadership and business issues.  I have had the honor of seeing Weldon in action with his clients as well as with CEG’s leaders.  I am continually impressed by his capacity to dispense relevant advice, hold leaders accountable to their best intentions, and elicit extraordinary organizational performance.  Weldon has a deep love for the North State; he is always working to enhance and improve our business community through his focus on small to mid-size legacy enterprises.  He is discerning, wise, kind, and one of the most generous people I have ever been lucky to know.
